KIRK System 1500 | System 1500 IP
Wireless Server
The WMS (Wireless Mobility Server) performs the heart of the system. The unit takes care of all control of the Base Stations (RFP's), the syncronisation for seamless handover, echo cancellation and line delay compensation, etc.
The WMS also handles the interface to the PBX and has a build-in memory for storing different kinds of data during operation.
The WMS is physically realised as a mother board with the necessary basic circuitry and a number of slots for plug-in modules.
Thanks to this modular design it performs a very competitive solution with only those modules actually needed in the individual installation being installed. All this leaves the possibility of expanding the system later when the telephone installation needs to grow.
Slots for Plug-In Modules
It is possible to plug different kind of modules into the WMS - for fundamental different purposes.
- Interface to the PBX (IWU cards)
- Link Interface for expanding the capacity of the system
- IP Gateway for LAN connection
- RFP expansion board
Configuration and Service/Maintenance
Through the serial I/O port (SIO) the configuration of the entire system is realised. This port is used for service and maintanence purpose, too, as it is possible to poll historical data from the system such as quality of service.
For remote access to the system a modem can be connected to the SIO port.
